Capturing the Thrill: The Art of Sports Photography
Starting sports photography has been one of the most eye-opening and rewarding experiences throughout my creative journey. Initially, it seemed like the goal would simply be to capture cool action shots, but it quickly became clear that the craft involves much more. It’s about timing, emotion, storytelling, and truly understanding the game being photographed.
One of the most significant lessons learned through this experience is the importance of anticipation. In sports, everything moves quickly—there’s no second chance to capture a game-winning goal or a powerful emotional reaction. Mastering this skill requires studying the rhythms of the sport, recognizing player tendencies, and predicting where the action will unfold before it happens. This process has cultivated a stronger sense of observation and patience, both behind the lens and in everyday life.

The Liberty Hockey: 2025–26 Gameday Program serves as a comprehensive resource for fans, media members, faculty, and staff attending and covering Liberty Men’s Division I Hockey. The publication provides essential information about the Flames, including team and player statistics, rosters, coaching staff, live stats, radio/television information, and other key details designed to give readers a better understanding of the program and enhance their overall gameday experience.
My vision was to take the traditional purpose of game notes - providing accurate, accessible information for team followers and those covering the team - and turn it into a publication that is both informative and engaging. By combining statistical information with player profiles, team details, and visual storytelling, I aimed to create a resource that helps media members tell the story of Liberty Hockey while giving fans, faculty, and staff a stronger connection to the team and the individuals representing the Flames on the ice.

My vision is to inspire athletes, fans, and future Flames by highlighting excellence on and off the field. I strive to elevate the stories that matter—those of perseverance, growth, and unity—and to serve as a lasting tribute to a team’s legacy in motion.
